Getting Started With The Arbitrage Tool

    Overview

Arbitrage betting is when you bet on both sides of a market in order to guarantee a small profit sports betting. It is a completely risk-free strategy, but requires a significant bankroll in order to realize significant profit.

    An Example

Getting Started With The Arbitrage Tool

In the above example, an Arbitrage on Keldon Johnson’s point total is listed between FanDuel and BetMGM. The top listing shows the wager specifics on FanDuel - Johnson’s total points is listed at Over 11.5, at an odds of +116. The bottom listing shows the wager specifics on BetMGM - Johnson’s point toal is listed at under 11.5, at an odds of -105. No matter what, one of these outcomes is going to take place - Johnson is either going to have more than 11.5 or less than 11.5 points.

Furthermore, since the odds between Fanduel and BetMGM differ sufficiently, by betting both sides at specific values, you can guarantee a small profit. In this case, by betting the listed value of $47.48 on FanDuel, and $52.52 on BetMGM, a return of $2.50 is guaranteed.

Lets run through that math. If Johnson scores more than 11.5 points, the bet will win on FanDuel and lose on BetMGM. In this case, the FanDuel wager will payout $55.07, while the BetMGM wager will have lost the stake of $52.52. This leads to a profit of $2.55 (55.07 - 52.52). If Johnson scores less than 11.5 points, the bet will win on BetMGM and lose on Fanduel. In this case, the BetMGM wager will payout $50, while the FanDuel wager will lose the stake of $47.48. This leads to a profit of $2.52 (50 - 47.48, small differences to account for rounding). Thus, regardless of the outcome, you will profit $2.50.

These bet values can be changed simply by altering the amount input for either site - everything else will be updated accordingly. An arbitrage calculator is also offered via our calculators page, found here.
