UNC vs TCU Analysis
Let’s start with what’s changed since these two met a year ago. Last September, TCU was a 3.5-point favorite and the total, after opening at 58.5, was shaved down to 54.5 by kickoff. The Horned Frogs won 48-14 and sailed over that number anyways. Now, 12 months later, the market has more than doubled TCU’s number and taken another nine points off the total. That tells me the market is adjusting its price after UNC’s 4-8 season and TCU’s notable quarterback change, losing Josh Hoover and bringing in Harvard transfer Jaden Craig.
The movement is looking awfully familiar if you ask me. Opening at a total of 49.5 points, the total has dropped down to 45.5 points. That’s the same four point drop the market had on this matchup last year, and it was wrong by eight points. On the moneyline, UNC ranges from +266 at Kalshi to +308 at NoVig, a 42-cent gap that moves the implied probability by nearly three full points.
Two unknowns are holding the total down at 45.5 points. TCU has handed the keys to the offense to Jaden Craig, who set the Crimson’s single season record with 2,869 yards and 25 touchdowns. But, the senior has never taken a Power Four snap. Then, North Carolina eclipsed 20 points in just five games last season. New offensive coordinator, Bobby Petrino, should help. His Arkansas group was top five in the nation at 5.7 yards per carry and 6.7 yards per play. But, like TCU, the Tar Heels are doing it with a new QB in Billy Edwards Jr. Both sides have reason to be quieter than last year and the last two games in Dublin were decided by a field goal with neither team topping 24 points.
UNC vs TCU +EV Opportunities

The game lines are priced about where they should be, specifically with the UNDER 45.5 at +116 through Pinnacle, which is a slim 0.2% edge against our fair price of +115.
The better opportunities are on the DFS side. Underdog has Major Everhart UNDER 21.5 receiving yards at a 55.2% value, the strongest play on the board for this game. Everhart missed last year’s meeting, not seeing the field till late September after dealing with an injury. In the 10 games he played, he topped 21.5 receiving yards three times, with a season high of 45 yards against West Virginia. If you’d rather have a slight cushion, DraftKings has his line posted at 22.5 yards.
My pick is Benjamin Hall UNDER rushing yards, and I'm playing it at FanDuel, not Underdog. Underdog has him at 43.5 for a 51.8% value, which is fine on its own. Hall ran for 274 yards on 71 carries last season and cleared 43.5 in just two of his 11 games, pocketing 22 yards on six carries against TCU in the opener. But the market on him is all over the place: 36.5 at ProphetX, 39.5 at DraftKings, 41.5 at Prop Builder and 46.5 at FanDuel. Taking the UNDER at 46.5 and -114 buys three extra yards of room for essentially the same price.
