Middle Calculator

Price a middle: small risk for a shot at cashing both sides.

Optional — your estimate of how often the result lands in the gap

    Side B Bet Amount
Profit if Middle Hits (both win)
    Loss if Middle Misses
    Break-Even Hit Rate

    What is the Middle Calculator?

A middle is two overlapping bets — say Over 44.5 at one book and Under 47.5 at another. If the result lands in the gap (45, 46, or 47), both bets cash for a big win; otherwise one wins and one loses and you're only out the vig. Middles are profitable when the gap hits more often than the break-even rate, which happens around key numbers in football.

    How to use it

    1. 1.Enter the odds and stake for side A, and the odds for side B.
    2. 2.The calculator balances side B so your loss is identical whichever single side wins.
    3. 3.Compare the break-even hit rate to how often you think the result lands in the gap — add your estimate to see the EV.

    Example

Two $110 bets at -110 with a 3-point gap: you risk $10 to win $200, so the middle only needs to land 4.8% of the time to break even. NFL spreads crossing 3 and 7 hit far more often than that.
